SUMMARY
I suffered a very serious injury when I was hit by a car while running and the physical therapist who got me back into sports had spent many years working as an LMT. His massage skills were impressive and helpful, so I got started in massage school. My original plan was to pay my way through physical therapy school as a massage therapist, but very early on in my career I realized massage was a great fit and more than satisfying.
EXPERIENCED WITH
My massage style is a combination of my Lomilomi background and my orthopedic massage training, definitely not the way orthopedic work is usually approached but I feel they complement each other. Lomi is rhythmic based and focuses on long, complete lines through the body. Pressure is incidental in Lomi and not the focus as in other schools of massage. I use the movement and specificity of orthopedic massage layered on that for focused work.
SUCCESS STORIES
I loved seeing my Hawai'i clients return year after year and get in touch when they were back vacationing on the islands. Tourist economies can be tough but it was meaningful to me that so many people remembered my work and looked me up next time they came.
WHAT I ENJOY MOST ABOUT GETTING MASSAGE:
specificity and intent. there is nothing more to say then that. That connection is a beautiful thing
