Stop your relaxation guilt!

Have you ever felt guilty for putting your feet up and relaxing?  Or curling up on the sofa and catching up on your favorite shows?  We live in a world with incredible technology, which makes our lives easier and which should create free time for us by decreasing the time spent on tasks.  But it seems that many people are not taking advantage of their free time.  A lot of people feel guilty for spending time relaxing, or doing nothing at all.  We work longer and more hours than people in many other countries.  We need to take time to relax and take care of ourselves.  So, go ahead.  Curl up on the sofa, grab that book you have been meaning to read, or, take a nap!  It is ok to slow down and breathe.  

There is much research on the benefits of relaxation:

-Strengthens the immune system

-Lowers blood pressure

-Boosts memory

-Lessens severe pain

These are just a few of the benefits of relaxation.  

So, go ahead.  Curl up on the sofa, grab that book you have been meaning to read, or, take a long nap.  It is perfectly ok to slow down and breathe.
