Cooler temperatures, falling leaves, colors changing, pumpkins in abundance - my favorite time of the year has arrived! Transitioning from warm weather into cool breezes is a welcome and familiar ritual!
The month of October is important in the health and wellness industry, as we celebrate the benefits of massage during National Massage Therapy Awareness. Those of us in this field are well aware of the benefits of regular massage therapy, as we are able to witness, firsthand, the relief it provides to people of all ages and backgrounds. Not only does massage therapy assist in managing pain, it offers relief from stress, it elevates mood, and it allows for the ability to remain balanced and focused.
This is also a month to focus on women's health, and in particular, breast cancer awareness, and the importance of screening and testing for this disease. If you have not already done so this year, make the time now to get screened. And, make sure that the women in your life, moms, wives, sisters, daughters, aunts, cousins, friends, whatever role they may play in your life - are aware of this disease, and take the steps to get screened. Early detection is key in fighting this cancer.
