As proud members of the Rockville Centre community, Elements RVC loves the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade. This year, we’re excited to announce that we’ll be at St. Agnes Parish Center from 12 p.m. until 5 p.m. on parade day, supporting the incredible St. Baldrick’s Foundation during their 16th annual RVC charity event!
The 2018 RVC St. Patrick’s Day Parade
When is it?
This year’s Rockville Centre St. Patrick’s Day parade takes place on Saturday, March 24. The parade will step off at 12 p.m. from Long Beach Road and Maple Avenue, turn right on North Park Avenue, make a left at College Place and culminate at Quealy Place.
Who’s the Grand Marshal?
The Grand Marshal of the 2018 RVC St. Patrick’s Day parade is John Coghlan, who was raised in Baldwin, NY and has been an active community member:
- Former CYO basketball coach and board member
- Served 12 years as a trustee on the Molloy College Board
- Current member of Legatus, an organization of business leaders that support the Magisterium of the Church
- Received the Bishop McGann Lifetime Achievement Award for working with Mercy Hospital
- Received the St. Thomas Aquinas Award for his contributions to Catholic education
What to expect
As per tradition, all donations to the RVC St. Patrick’s Day celebration will be divided and given to three charities:
Of course, there will be plenty of good food and drink, and the parade will be a wonderful thing to watch. However, Elements RVC is most excited for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation event at St. Agnes Parish Center.
St. Baldrick’s Foundation Event
About St. Baldrick’s
You’re probably already familiar with St. Baldrick’s Foundation. It’s a charity with one mission: to find a cure for childhood cancer.
St. Baldrick’s donates 72 percent of every dollar raised to fund research for childhood cancer cures. Since 2005, the charity has donated $232 million in research grants to various laboratories and clinical research centers.
For the 16th consecutive year, St. Baldrick’s is coming to Rockville Centre to raise money and host one of their famous charity events in which volunteers shave their heads and donate to support kids with cancer.
This year’s event takes place at:
- St. Agnes Parish Center
- 29 Quealy Place, Rockville Centre, NY US
- March 24, 2018
- 12 p.m. – 5 p.m.
In 2017, Rockville Centre raised over $403,000 for life saving cancer research! Together, we can break that record this year.
Register for the event here.
Fun for the Whole Family
In addition to the head shaving, there will be plenty of fun around the grounds of St. Agnes Parish:
- Live music by Jim McGrath and the Palace Trio
- Food and drinks from local vendors including the Witches Brew
- Bake sale
- Tons of raffles with awesome prizes
- Activities for the kids
Elements RVC’s Involvement
The Elements RVC team will be at the St. Agnes Parish Center for the entirety of the event, giving 10-minute chair massages for just $10! All of the proceeds will be donated directly to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation.
We are also currently donating $1 for everyone who uses Facebook to either check into our studio, or share this post from our Page. Please participate! It takes just one minute of your time to help a great cause.
We hope to see you at this year’s St. Patrick’s Day parade! If you can’t make it, please consider donating to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation anyway.
