We’re often asked by clients which type of massage is the best. Of course, there’s not a black-and-white answer to that question. The truth is the modality and pressure level that’s best often depends on how you feel physically and emotionally.
Which Type of Massage to Choose Based on your Feelings
Chronic Aches and Pains
Persistent aches and pains, particularly in the neck, back and shoulders, are among the most common symptoms clients come to Elements of Rockville Centre to remedy.
For chronic pain conditions, we recommend deep tissue massage. This modality puts pressure on muscles, tendons and tissues deep under the skin to address tension from the root. Clients who receive deep tissue massage often describe it as the “good kind of pain,” like when you stretch after sitting for an extended period of time.
Muscle Knots
Muscle tissue is meant to be pliable and strong. Although, sitting in the same position or performing repetitive motions often causes clumps of tissue to become stiff and painful. Those tender sections are sometimes called “muscle knots.”
Trigger point therapy is meant to focus on muscle knots to release and relieve them. It combines principles of deep tissue and Swedish massage, but targets your problem areas specifically.
Stressed Out
If you’re just looking to relax, any type of massage will do the trick.
For even deeper relaxation, why not try out Himalayan salt stone massage? We use 100 percent pink salt stones sourced from the Himalayans, which are then thoroughly sanitized by a UV light system.
The warm stones act as an extension of the licensed massage therapist’s hands, leaving you feeling deeply relaxed.
Sleep Deprived
It’s tough to get high quality sleep when we lead such busy lives. Whether you’re having trouble falling asleep or just can’t get to bed at a reasonable hour, we have a solution.
AromaRitual™ adds an exclusive essential oil blend to your massage to provide extra healing benefits. Consider using Calm blend, which is lavender-based and provides deeper, more restful sleep.
Congested
Refresh is another AromaRitual™ essential oil blend that contains eucalyptus and peppermint. It helps purify the air and clear your airways. You’ll leave the session breathing freely and feeling calm.
Note: if your congestion is due to a contagious sickness like a cold or the flu, please do not book a massage appointment until you’re no longer sick.
You can’t go wrong with any type of massage at Elements of Rockville Centre. If you’re still unsure of which one to pick, just ask our licensed massage therapists! They will be happy to give you recommendations based on your needs.
