Updated Minor Massage Policy

Updated Minor Massage Policy

Elements Massage Issaquah

Dear Parents,

For the safety and security of our clients and staff, all Elements Massage™ locations nationwide are updating our Minor Massage Policy as of 4/1/2019.

1) We require a parent or guardian to be present in the room for the entire duration of the massage.
2) Minors will be required to wear gym shorts and a sports bra or tank top during the massage session regardless of gender and will be properly draped by the sheet and/or blanket during the session.

This change is not the result of any specific incident, rather one of a series of changes we are making to further create a safe and therapeutic environment for both clients and our valued massage therapists. This is to proactively implement safeguards that are recommended by industry leading associations such as the Associated Bodyworks and Massage Professionals organization.

We want to continue to be a place where all people, regardless of age, can benefit from the therapeutic effects of massage at an affordable price. We can continue to be that place while implementing more safeguards for our clients and therapists. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us by calling our front desk manager Olesea Mironica at (206) 620-0989 or emailing her at issaquahwmamgr@elementsmassage.com.

Thank you,
Elements Massage of Issaquah

Answers to Questions You May Have

My child has come in many times and we really trust their therapist. Can I give my permission for treatment to occur without a parent/guardian in the room?

We are happy that you and your child have had such a great experience with our therapist but unfortunately, we cannot make an exception. We are proud to have a strong, professional reputation that allows parents and guardians to trust that their child will be treated appropriately in our care. However, for the safety and security of both our clients and our staff, parental supervision should be maintained during all massage sessions.

Being in the room with your child during their massage can be a great opportunity to get some downtime in a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. You are welcome to catch up on your news or social media feeds if your device is muted and not a distraction, or if you use headphones.

This is very inconvenient. I’m not sure this is going to work for us.

We recognize this change may not be ideal for your busy schedule and would be happy to work with you to see if we can find an appointment time that better fits your needs. We are committed to finding a day, time, and therapist that will work for you and your child’s schedule so that your child can continue to experience the benefits of therapeutic massage.
