First and foremost, breathe! Calm down, take a breath and refocus before stepping out of the car.
Second, make a plan of attack! Making a list of who you are shopping for, what you want to purchase for each person, and where you are going to get it, is more than half of that stressful battle!
Third, map out your destinations. I know this one sounds a little OCD but it really works! Think about where you are, where you want to go, and where you want to end up. Factor in the day of the week (weekend or weekday) and also the time of day (will there be traffic? Should I avoid this area at this time?) This single act can cut your shopping time by hours believe it or not!
Fourth, don’t stress over the little things! Lines are going to be long (prepare yourself for the wait and allow yourself time). The gift you have in mind might be out of stock (order it online OR choose a different gift). The stores WILL be packed, busy, and out of order (prepare yourself for the disorganization and ask an employee to guide you in the right direction instead of wasting your time rummaging).
Fifth, if all else fails…come get a massage!
