With the new year comes fresh starts, resolutions and new beginnings. It is a time for making plans, setting goals and writing visions.
Every January, most of us set intentions we want to achieve. It is the optimal time to do it, as it is a new year, filled with new opportunities, new agendas, new plans. For many of us, our intentions are related to healthier living, and we start out feeling very motivated, but after a few weeks, our good intentions for ourselves get lost in daily routines and busyness. Not only that, we have a tendency to want to achieve the intentions rather quickly, and get discouraged when we don't see immediate results.
This year, make a resolution to start simple. Set true intentions that are accessible. Setting lavish intentions which are immediately unattainable can be disappointing, because they are so far to reach from our current position. Establishing attainable goals step by step motivates us to reach further, and to go higher. Allowing ourselves time to reach our intentions throughout the year allows us to celebrate the small milestones, and to feel good about ourselves when we do.
Define your goals for this year; and make them realistic, so you can reach them. Taking care of your health should be one of your intentions. Give some thought to where you wish your energies to be directed, and focus on those targets. Re-define your commitments to make sure you truly understand them. Prioritize what is important to you, to ensure that you are not looking back at the end of 2016 with any regrets.
Onward and upward in 2016!
