Summer! It's finally here! But did you know that summertime can actually be more stressful than other times of the year? Simply because our normal routine is disrupted, kids are off/home from school, work schedules change, etc. Summers can often be busier than we want. So instead of the carefree summer that we envision, with plenty of good weather and sunshine, we get even more overwhelmed.
There are a few things you can do to control your stress and anxiety during this wonderful season:
Take advantage of the good weather and take walks, as often as you can! Eat plenty of the season's fresh fruits and vegetables - we have a new recipe on our newsletter each month - and keep hydrated by drinking lots of fluids, this will flush out toxins and keep you from feeling sluggish.
Breathe deeply; spend at least five minutes each day without any noise. Silence and deep breathing can help calm you down and help you to relax.
Don't overlook your self by not overbooking yourself! It's ok to say "no" to another barbecue or picnic. Spend this time doing something you really enjoy. Most importantly, take the time to take care of yourself. Massage is a great way to rejuvenate and to relieve those summertime stressors!
