As the world swirls around us, and as we continue to watch the unrest, conflict and negative events which we have never seen before, we can begin to feel similar unhealthy feelings inside of us. These emotions need to be dealt with, using positive and constructive methods, allowing us to heal ourselves.
We are unable to control the events which are going on in the world, but we are able to control how we process and react to these events. Most people are disturbed by the events in the world, and this effects our mental health. However we may choose to protect and nurture our mental health is up to us - physical activities, meditation, volunteering our time to humane causes, spending quality time with those we love.... the most important thing is to do something. If we don't do anything, and, instead, watch the chaos, this could lead to further anxiety, depression and discouraging thoughts.
The ability to control ourselves is within us. Our behavior is up to us. Choosing to take care of our own mental health is within our reach.
