Have you noticed our new, bright window display featuring almost a dozen tie-dye shirts? Stop on by to place a bid on your favorite one through the end of September. All proceeds go to the Hope House Milwaukee.
Every summer the staff at Elements Massage - Whitefish Bay get together for a company picnic with our families for games, food, and good company. This summer we took tips from our Director of Education and Tie-Dye Master, Thom, to create some unique tie-dye designs.
Thom started dying about 12 years ago after a friend of his showed him some shirts she had dyed, “She had a shirt which had a turtle dyed into the overall tie-dye pattern. I had never seen specific shapes dyed into a shirt before.” Thom likes to dye his own shirts because he can experiment with mixing colors to get that perfect shade that he cannot find in the store. He loves to tie-dye because of the various ways you can tie the shirt to create different patterns versus the traditional swirl pattern we are all familiar with. The creations are never ending, which makes tie-dying always fun and interesting!
Now that we have hung up 11 tie-dye shirts for your viewing entertainment and also purchase opportunity let’s talk about how this auction will work. If you see a shirt in the window that you are dying to have, stop in and place your bid on that shirt. The auction will last through the end of September and we will be contacting the winner in October to collect your bid and send you off with your new shirt!
All proceeds from the winning bid of each shirt will be donated to the Hope House. According to the Hope House website, “ The mission of Hope House is to end homelessness and create healthy communities.”
How did we choose the Hope House as the charity to donate to? We continuously have contests in the studio among staff members and the winning team gets to choose the next charity we donate to. One of our front desk staff members, Ruthie, is passionate about the Hope House and here is why she chose them to receive this donation, “The Hope House is known as being honorable and doing great things for the homeless and underprivileged communities in Milwaukee.”
Stop in and place your bid to help the homeless and gain an awesome new shirt!
