Places Traveled: Atlanta, GA. to visit my sister & brother-in-law, because I Love Atlanta! I also go to Sawyer,Michigan, once a year, for a short week vacation in order to visit family (it's a small reunion). I love Michigan! I once went to Florida with my first husband where I picked fresh grapefruit from a tree. That was pretty cool. I also took a road trip with my old boyfriend years ago. We took the Greyhound bus from Milwaukee to Arkansas, where my boyfriend had stashed his Motorcycle. We rode his bike out to San Francisco, CA. I went to Hawaii for 2-weeks. My Uncle Hank was a pilot in the Air force then, and his family was stationed at Hickam Air Base. We were able to stay with them, getting free room and board, which made the trip more affordable. I love Hawaii! Last fall I took a week-end trip to Door Co with a friend. That was cool too, because we brought back the best apples ever and have great memories.
My Dream Vacation: Other than going back to Hawaii and visiting another island, I guess I would love to go to Thailand or to Italy.
Favorite Massage Modalities: I use relaxation techniques, as my base while incorporating therapeutic massage when needed. That included trigger point work, stretching, deep tissue, muscle release techniques, and tapotment. I customize each session after a consultation with my client concerning their needs.
Philosophy of Healing: I believe in the connection between mind, body, & spirit. We need to treat all three, in order to achieve balance in our lives. This is a way that we can maintain our complete health. Once a person is out of balance that is when health issues arise where our minds become unfocused and overwhelmed. Then our sense of peace is interrupted and it is harder and harder to feel happy. Life is a gift and I say why not treat our bodies like Kings & Queens?
In my other life (before I found massage therapy) I was...
Before I found Massage Therapy, I grew up up being raised in a family business ( resort & bar), where taking pride in hard work and making other people feel happy was instilled by my father. Service to others is a good thing. My father told me, that there would always be a lot of people looking for what we had while there on Castle Rock Lake. He was talking about peace. The kind that is found deep down inside of you. As an example; in the morning you could look out over the water to your right and watch the sun rise. Later in the evening, you could look to your left and watch the sun set. All of this was was my father's dream not mine. It took me a while to figure out what "my" purpose here on earth is, and I am now certain that it is to help people through massage therapy regain balance in mind, body, and spirit.
My gift to myself is to do what I am meant to do. I have found so much joy in my career, as a massage therapist. I am blessed to be one of those people who can say I love my job!
