Philosophy on Healing: The body is capable of healing itself with the help of massage. Massage helps to release lactic acid build-up, inflammation and/or scar tissue that builds up in the body. These issues can lead to limited range of motion, impinged nerves and pain. Massage can help with these problems and allow the body to heal itself without the use of medication. Adding massage to regular exercise, stretching and hydration is a very important step in living a healthy, pain-free life.

"Ross was very punctual and professional. He listened to what I wanted, he used firm pressure as I requested but checked in from time to time to make sure it was still ok."

Testimonials
"It was exactly what I needed, a relaxing and simple massage. Soham was very nice and made sure to constantly check in with me during the massage"
Philosophy on Healing: I work to help clients become aware of their physical body; where and how they may be holding stress and inflammation, and help them find balance and let go. I work to train them to help themselves and receive nurturing massage that is good for the body Soham has East and West training in massage techniques: -East techniques look at meridians that correspond to the major organs of the body; these meridiads go from head to toe throughout the body. West techniques work with the anatomy: bones and muscles -Swedish massage and Tiuna are techniques for lushing the circulation and moving stagnant energy or inflammation. -My bodywork and massage training in India; taught my hands to feel where inflammation, stuck energy, heat, trapped energy is present and to release this energy through pathways of the body that techniques that warm the muscles and relax the joints. -CST/Craniosacral therapy allows the client to sink into the table as the body relaxes in a let go from a craniosacral hold on the occipital ridge of the skull. Facial and scalp acupressure also helps with the relaxation. -The client begins with 3 deep breaths directed by the therapist to let go of any burdens or weight in the shoulders and upper body. -The rhythm of the strokes helps the client breath deeper and the mind relax or let go. -Therapist goes as deep as needed in key areas of concern to create muscular integration throughout the whole body. -Acupressure points help client breathe into tight areas and release tensions. -Client feels a new sense of wholeness : relieved, refreshed and balanced to steps of better health. -Soham's massage combines Tiuna, Craniosacral and Reflexology to effectively help the clients emotional well being. Reflexology affects the nervous and endocrine systems and regions of the body where emotions may be stored. CST /Craniosacral is effective because it treats the central nervous system and limbic system directly. Tiuna uses specific repetitive hand strokes and acupressure points that treat certain emotions and help to create movement in the body that can calm and reset the nervous system. -In 1990, Soham went to India for a 3 week somatic/active meditation retreat/ She stayed in India for almost 6 months and learned massage therapy/bodywork techniques from instructors who were students who had studied with Barbara Brennan, the author of Hands of Light. This work has stayed as the heart of Soham's practice. From Barbara's biography: "In 1982, Barbara founded the Barbara Brennan School of Healing. Combining High Sense Perception skills and hands-on energy healing techniques to assist individuals with their personal process of healing, Brennan Healing Science practitioners are trained to interact with a client’s energy field in a deeply intuitive way, energetically supporting the client into alignment toward healing, as well as clearing, balancing, and renewing the energy field that supports physical and emotional health. It touches every aspect of a person’s life to improve the quality of life." quote from Barbara Brennan School of Healing website. In a quote from AMTA's massage therapy journal: "Massage therapy is not just a modality to help with physical aches and pains. It also provides many benefits for mental well being, such as decreasing stress, anxiety and depression. Many massage techniques that your clients might request for help managing physical symptoms of illness, injury or stress for example can also help their overall emotional and mental well being."
