Stress ebbs and flows based on a variety of ever-changing items. From family life to work demands, navigating health and wellness to facing daily obstacles or unexpected challenges, stress levels are constantly in flux. One thing that you can control is discovering tools that can assist you when your stress levels skyrocket. By creating and following a healthy strategy for dealing with stress, you can diminish the overwhelming feeling associated with upticks in stress levels.

At Elements Massage Central Scottsdale, we are all about finding healthy coping mechanisms to reduce stress levels. In fact, here are a few of our favorite go-to methods to unlock inner peace, restore a balanced state of mind, and nurture the body:

  • Meditation
    Whether in a yoga studio or solo in a private space, meditation can help activate the body’s natural relaxation response which can reduce stress and boost your energy levels. To meditate, find a quiet space free of clutter and simply start by breathing deep. Let go of any frustrations and mentally walk through checking in with different parts of your body. Start by trying to incorporate five to ten minutes of meditation a day and commit to wherever your mind wanders.
  • Massage
    One of the best ways to reduce stress is through a great massage. This non-pharmacological approach delivers a handcrafted and therapeutic experience that encourages the mind and body to let go, relax, and reset.
  • Practicing Mindfulness
    Being mindful is a great habit to cultivate that can help you live in the moment instead of getting bogged down by thinking about all of the “what ifs” and long list of to-dos you have. Much like meditation, practicing mindfulness can help you feel better connected to others around you. Start by being kind and concentrating on what is in front of you. 
  • Walking
    One of the best things to rejuvenate creative energies is through walking. Plus the fresh air does wonders to help reduce stress levels. We recommend trying to fit in several short ten minutes walks a day, especially if you have a desk job, and at least one longer walk. You can even try combining walking with practicing mindfulness.
