Make the Most of the Journey

Day in and day out can be a grind. And if you don’t stop to pay attention, life will just happen to you. To counteract the passive role, it’s important to learn how to make the most of the journey by appreciating the good and the bad, the joy and the pain. At Elements Massage Central Scottsdale, we’re all about supporting our clients achieve happier, more satisfying lives.

To do this, we’d like to share several ways our staff tries to make the most of each day. Here are a few of our favorite methods:

  1. Mini Meditation
    There are so many apps available to help you create a meditation practice but if you find this hard, let’s make the task more manageable. Every day, set aside a minute or two to do a mini check-in. During this minute, hone your focus in on the now and concentrate on being present. What do you hear? What do you feel? How is your emotional state? How is your physical state?
  2. Make Sleep a Priority
    Most of us wake up to alarms in the morning but very few set alarms indicating when bedtime should be. Sleep is incredibly important when it comes to optimizing your mood and health. To give yourself a boost, make sleep a priority now. This means turning off electronics, keeping your phone out of the bedroom, and saying no to certain social activities that keep you up past your bedtime.
  3. Work Out
    Physical activity can help you feel centered, grounded, and not to mention - it can promote health and wellness. Incorporating daily physical activity into your routine can give you more energy, help you focus, and look your best. If you aren’t already in the habit, start slowly by walking every day. Look for easy ways to boost your steps like taking the stairs or parking as far away as possible from your office.
  4. Let Go
    One of the best things you can do right now is to sit back, take in a deep breath, and let all of the things that you can’t control go. Instead of spending time and energy exacerbating stress, learn that you can’t control every situation - whether at work or home and just feel the tension release itself.

While this list is far from comprehensive, it’s an excellent start to figuring out how to make the most of your own journey.
