Notice where you draw your breath -into the chest, the belly, or elsewhere. Does it feel stilted or does it flow naturally? Does it catch anywhere? Focusing on deepening your body’s respiratory function can take your mind off other worries and stressors allowing you to live in the moment.

Stretching
If your muscles are tense and stiff then it can be pretty hard to relax. Stretching can be a great way to work out pain or tension. While you never want to stretch to the point of injury or severe discomfort, taking a relaxing breath and stretching tight muscles can help release toxins that build up in your body.

Rest
