“I am so excited about having a career as a Licensed Massage Therapist. Since I was a little girl, I wanted to help people and wanted them to be happy. I felt like I needed to help in any way I could. It started with my grandma who was suffering from arthritis. At that time my first experience of massaging was on my grandma’s back and hands. My grandma told me something that has always stuck with me, ‘Shameca you have the gift of warm healing hands, and you need to share it with everyone,’ and so I did from that day on.”
Swedish Massage, Sports Massage, Deep Tissue, Infant massage, Geriatrics, Doula, High risk patients, Pregnancy massage, Tui Na, Energy massage, Chinese massage.
“I had a client that was 8.5 months pregnant with her second child, and she suffered from low back pain and sciatica. She went to several massage therapists and couldn’t get anyone to address her needs. She was also feeling upset because at her last appointment they told her the baby flipped and the baby will be breach. There were only 4 weeks left before her c-section. I began to work with her, massaging her 3 times a week.
A few days before her scheduled c-section, they discovered that her baby had flipped again the correct way. She went into labor that night and I was honored to be her doula. She had a fast delivery and that was such a gift that I could share with my client through massage.”
WHAT MAKES YOUR MASSAGES UNIQUE?
“I always tell my client to relax, take deep breaths, and imagine a beautiful place that motivates you so your mind and body can communicate with each other. I make sure the client is feeling safe, trusted, respected, and knows that I’m here to support them with whatever they come in for today. I respect their privacy and keep an open line of communication. I have an open ear for questions they may have or things they want to address during their massage. I also give recommendations on how to address their pain and ways that massage can help with their daily lifestyle, including pain management.”
