As the spring season swiftly approaches, so too does the best weather for golf in the Valley of the Sun. Unfortunately, this means that our stellar team also sees a rise in the number of clients dealing with Golfer’s Elbow.
What is Golfer’s Elbow?
Golfer’s Elbow is a medical condition, similar to Tennis Elbow that results in the inflammation of the tendons that connect your forearm to your elbow. Often quite painful, particularly along the bony part inside of the elbow, this injury can result in tingling sensations along with much discomfort and a limited range of movement.
Repetitive Movement Injury
Categorized as a repetitive movement injury, with Golfer’s Elbow, it can be difficult to grip, rotate, or flex your wrist. Being able to rest the injury and seek out professional care is a good idea to to facilitate a quicker recovery to get you back out on the course sooner.
At Elements Massage Scottsdale East, our team is comprised of knowledgeable massage therapists that can evaluate your pain, range of motion, tenderness and dysfunction before coming up with the most direct and therapeutic course of action to promote healing.
With a range of modalities available, our studio performs deep tissue massage, myofascial release and other types of gentle massage treatments to get you feeling like your best self. In addition to visiting our studio, we recommend that you take preventative measures that include:
- Strengthening your forearm muscles with light weights and simple exercises
- Always stretch before any activity
- Know when to rest
We get that it can be hard to take a break but golfing while in pain won’t be any fun.
