At Elements Massage Scottsdale East, we deal with a multitude of our client’s aches and pains. From chronic headaches to back pains, high stress and anxiety, to more specific conditions like arthritis and fibromyalgia. One common complaint our clients come to us with is foot pain.
There are several different types of foot pain we see most often including:
Foot issues pertaining to the Achilles tendon can happen suddenly or accumulate over time. Often attributed to sports or work activities, problems arise with the stop and go motion. Symptoms of this condition include pain, swollen ankles and even bruising.
This form of common heel pain occurs when the plantar fascia, the flat band of tissue responsible for connecting your toes to heel bone, is strained. This results in a weak, swollen, or irritated arch and can lead to severe pain when walking or standing. Caused by strain or tiny tears, this condition responds positively to forms of deep tissue massage, especially of the calf muscles.
General Foot Pain
Toe, foot, and ankle problems can all be categorized as general foot pain. At Elements Massage East, we recommend taking a break from activities that can promote damage and getting plenty of rest. High impact activities like jogging should be substituted with lower impact activities like swimming or bicycling. It’s also wise to wear supportive and comfortable shoes that fit appropriately.
Our team of experts can listen to your concerns and help create a massage to address your needs. From relaxing tight muscles to inducing a deep sense of relaxation, massage may be able to restore your feet and revive your active lifestyle!
