What is CranioSacral Therapy and How Can It Help Me?

We know that all massage is beneficial to our health, but what exactly is CranioSacral Therapy?
CranioSacral Therapy was developed by Dr. John Upledger and is based in creating a free flow of cerebrospinal fluid throughout craniosacral system.
Ok, now in regular people terms...
The craniosacral system is the membrane and fluid that surround the brain and spinal cord in our bodies. This system carries fluid that protects, nourishes and cleans. If that fluid can't move freely where it needs to we have a problem. If we have a problem with our brain and spinal cord, we most likely have a problem with our entire body. A craniosacral therapist can monitor the "pulse" of this system through light touch and find out where the blockages and stress points are. Once the problems points are identified they can be worked on. The touch in this type of therapy is light and the movements subtle, but the results can be incredible.
The largest patient group for CranioSacral Therapy according to Dr. Upledger are people that suffer from chronic symptoms (generally from an accident or other type of trauma) that haven't been helped by other means. It is also a favorite among people who have stress related ailments such as insomnia, headaches or anxiety (just to name a few...)
We have several therapists (Jody, Christina, & Laundra) that perform CranioSacral Therapy and if you think it is for you please give us a call to talk about your needs and how we can help.
