Now that the holidays are officially in full swing, gift giving is on everyone’s minds. What to get for that kind co-worker, supportive neighbor, best friend, or parent? This year, we’re sharing our rules of giving great gifts to help you navigate a stress-free season of gifting:
- Monetary Value is Unimportant
First and foremost, the monetary value of any gift you give is not the point. Showy gifts don’t mean anything if they aren’t backed up by heart and charm.
- Kudos for Thoughts
You may have heard the expression “it’s the thought that counts!” We subscribe to this belief wholeheartedly. This year, consider your gifts carefully with an eye to originality and fun. Take the receiver into consideration and really weigh how you’d like to show this person that you care.
- Experiences Over Possessions
This idea is one that seems to be picking up speed. Instead of an object, go for an experience like tickets to a concert, a gift certificate to a specific restaurant, a gift card for a massage session at our studio. Experiences create memories that last!
- Write it Out
In lieu of an actual present, a nice handwritten card detailing your gratitude for your relationship with the gift receiver is an excellent way to embrace the festivity of the season while expressing your heartfelt appreciation for those in your community.
- Don’t Rush
Whatever you opt for, make sure that you aren’t trying to make a gift exchange happen quickly. Pick a time when you are relaxed and ready to give your gift to allow for a thoughtful interaction and exchange.
