New Year's Resolution: A Monthly Massage

How well did you keep last year's New Year's Resolution?  How long did it last?  Like many people this time of year a New Year's Resolution is based on a health and wellness goal.  Sometimes it is to lose weight, go to the gym on a regular basis, or eat healthy foods.  Often these resolutions are only kept for a few weeks or a little longer.

What about this year?  If you would like a health and wellness resolution goal you can keep, consider a monthly massage.  It is a resolution to take time for yourself and do something healthy for you.

According to an article in Prevention magazine, a monthly massage may be just the thing.  They say that a study from Emory University found that indulging in massage therapy once or twice a week can lower levels of cortisol, a stress hormone.  Massage is also good for the immune system by increasing white blood cells.  It reduces headaches, improves sleep quality, and lessens lower back pain.

This resolution idea does not require spending hours in a crowded gym or changing your diet. It just requires making an appointment and showing up.  You can even schedule appointments in advance.
