There’s no better time than the present to prioritize your health and start making better decisions to support and nurture your mind/body connection. Instead of making excuses, put your foot down and seize the moment making today (or tomorrow) the start of something beautiful. To embrace the now, here are a few critical ways you can radically impact your health:
- Get More Sleep
Many individuals report sleeping less than six hours a night and truth be told, that’s not enough sleep. A chronic lack of sleep can leave you feeling easily fatigued, struggling to concentrate, and overall quite grumpy. If you have bad sleep habits, start by setting a new sleep timeframe. For example, if you usually sleep for six hours, try for seven hours for two weeks Set an alarm to tell you when to go to bed. Other steps for success include investing in all white linens, blackout curtains, and be sure to turn off all technology at least half an hour before bed.
- Drink Water
Instead of reaching for a soda or coffee, swap out a few of your regular beverages for straight water. In fact, we encourage you to drink at least half of your body weight in ounces a day in water. Hydration plays an important role in how you feel.
- Eat Well
Don’t make excuses any longer. Get into a few cookbooks or find several handy recipes online and do some meal prep to make food choices throughout the week much easier. We love fresh salads and grilled fish this time of year!
- Sunshine and Fresh Air
Another important part of feeling regulated includes going outdoors and participating in nature. If you work indoors, set a calendar reminder to get up from your desk at least once a day. Getting some vitamin D in addition to fresh air can help stoke your circadian rhythms and refresh your creative energies
