Mary Jane S. | Licensed Massage Therapist
Summary: "I was massaging my mom my entire life to help with her chronic pain. I never considered massage as a career until I dropped out of college after learning it wasn't for me. My mom suggested looking into massage therapy school and the next day I toured a massage school and fell in love. Ever since, I've been so happy to have the privilege of working on my own clients."
What makes your massage unique? "I am detail oriented and follow my intuition. This allows me to connect with my clients on a deeper level and understand therm in ways other therapists might not. I find that pain can be relieved by addressing muscles deeper in the muscular system that are often overlooked"
Client success story: "I had a client that started seeing me in massage school during my clinicals. She had limited range of motion and could not get off the table by herself. No one else would work with her due to the extra assistance and patience she needed. She followed me when I graduated and a few months ago, after a lot of time, effort and homework ran her very first 5k. It was so rewarding and I was so proud of us both."
What do you appreciate most when receiving massage? "I appreciate time and focus on the areas causing the pain and not just the painful area itself. I thrive in quiet sessions where I can focus on relaxing and letting my busy thoughts go."
What keeps you passionate about massage therapy? "The clients that show up angry and leave relaxed. Pain can cause people to act mean and stressed when they are good people. I love hearing my clients having increased mobility, being able to walk more, and sleeping better."
What do you enjoy most outside of massage therapy? "I'm an author working on my third book; a fantasy species that thrived on Earth after humanity was wiped out. I also have an 8 week old kitten and a 3 year old cat who are my pride and joy. I LOVE to read and play video fames. Anything The Last of Us related instantly has my attention."
