“Scent”sational Aromatherapy

RondaKae K. Vainikka Dec 7, 2017

Think of a time that you got a whiff of a loved one's perfume or cologne, or the comforting smell of grandma’s house. The smell of the cookies fresh out of the oven, of pies baking, or the soft clean scent of sun dried sheets. The smell of the forest, the mountains, the ocean. The smell of the seasons. The smells, good and bad that surround us daily. The smells of life.

Our sense of smell is strongly connected to our memories, and if someone even mentions a smell that is familiar, it will likely bring up a memory of a time we associate with that smell. It’s a subconscious thing. Our brains do it all without our even being aware; and yet, many of us associate the same smells with the same common words such as: relaxing and restful with lavender and invigorating with peppermint. It is our common experience of these smells put into words.

Here at Elements we offer you the opportunity to use your sense of smell to enhance your massage experience! We offer Aromatherapy upgrades in five different beneficial scents: the two blends are Radiance and Vitality, and the single scents available are eucalyptus, lavender, and our newest offering peppermint.

For an Aromatherapy session we:

  1. Infuse a small bottle of lotion with the oil of your choice

  2. Perform the massage with the infused lotion

  3. The bottle and any remaining lotion from your treatment is yours to keep.

And the cool thing about that?

When you use what's left of your lotion, it will trigger your body to remember the relaxed state you were in when you left our studio, thereby extending the benefits of your massage for as long as you associate that smell with your amazing massage experience!

It’s truly “scent”sational. Give it a try. Call now to schedule your aromatherapy massage: 952-222-3000
