SUMMARY
I really had intended to go into hospice massage and wanted to volunteer my time at nursing homes, after spending my early job years working as a CNA. As human beings we need touch and compassion and to be able to provide that while simultaneously providing pain relief and helping individuals recover from injuries or perform better at something they love is something I’m really grateful for. Going to work and helping people feel better physically or emotionally is a gift.
EXPERIENCED WITH
Deep Tissue, Swedish/relaxation, Myofascial Release, Trigger Point, Pin & Stretch, Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, Mental Health conditions, Neuromuscular Therapy, Sports Massage, Migraines/Headaches, Plantar Fasciitis, Sciatica, Tui Na
SUCCESS STORIES
I had a client while I was in clinic who was recovering from a pretty gnarly cold and was having a lot of residual sinus symptoms and using Tui Na accupoints I was able to greatly relieve the clients headache related to the sinus pressure. The client also said she could feel the immediate clearing of her sinuses when applying pressure to various accupoints.
WHAT MAKES YOUR MASSAGES UNIQUE?
I feel like I approach massage through several lenses and it allows me to provide a well rounded experience. Whether someone wants a very western-style deep tissue massage or something that is a little more energetically influenced, I try to find a happy medium to support whatever the clients need or want.
WHAT DO YOU APPRECIATE MOST WHEN RECEIVING MASSAGE?
Trigger point work, pin and stretch, & tapotement. I really like to feel like I’m having therapeutic work done rather than just relaxation based massages, though I do want to be relaxed, too.
WHAT KEEPS YOU PASSIONATE ABOUT MASSAGE?
The ever changing needs of people, it can be so different and so rewarding. I love hearing people’s stories and also enjoy the silence in between. I’m just happy to be making people feel better in whatever way I can.
