LOVE your front desk staff! They are always so cheery, and going into a massage, it's great to feel welcomed. Then Miriam starts working on me with those magical hands, and I get lost in relaxation. Life is good. Always better during and after a healing massage at Elements Massage.
Miriam, has the clearest, most heart-felt reason for becoming a Massage Therapist: “I love taking care of people,” she says.
As a therapist, she feels best paired with people whose bodies are tense because they’re holding onto mental stress and trauma. To bring her clients to a state of relaxed awareness, Miriam employs a variety of techniques—from Swedish-style to Deep Tissue massage, as well as Reflexology and Cupping.
“I get such a sense of accomplishment when I hear that ‘Haaaaaaa’ and I can tell that they’re here,” she says. “And, I love my Prenatal clients.”
Outside of Elements, Miriam also works full-time as a Certified Nursing Assistant, helping to feed and bathe patients. In between, she’s studying to be a Physical Therapist at Naugatuck Community College. Because of her high GPA, she was awarded grants to attend.
For someone as busy as Miriam, being able to teleport herself would be a handy superpower to have. “As in, I snap my fingers and I’m at the beach, or I’m with the person I need to be with in the moment,” she says, smiling at the thought.
Miriam knows what it means to have been given a second opportunity in life.
“I’ve been in really bad car accidents and have come out OK. I’m grateful to be able to pick up my pieces and keep going,” she explains. “I’m constantly striving for better—for myself and the people around me. I want to show that the second chances I’ve had were not for nothing.”
There’s a life algebra that Miriam’s always been good at: love is an act of multiplication, and an open heart keeps multiplying to infinity.
