So your session is on the books and you’ve been looking forward to a relaxing and therapeutic massage for weeks now. Before any massage session, there are a few things that you can do to best prepare to reap the benefits. Here’s how you can set yourself up for an excellent experience:
Remember a massage is a relaxing experience designed to decrease stress and anxiety. Before you visit our studio, we recommend that you eat lightly on the day of and give yourself a two hour window to digest if possible. You should also drink plenty of water to prepare your muscles for the application and movement of pressure. Allot yourself plenty of time to make it to the studio a few minutes early to sit down, soak in our welcoming atmosphere, and not feel rushed.

Once you arrive, take a deep breathe and check in at our welcome desk. Then once any paperwork is complete, take a seat and let yourself soften into the environment. When you head into your massage room, talk to your therapist about what you are feeling, if you have any injuries or sore spots, and what you’d like to work on in that particular moment. Communication is key during a massage to ensure the right amount of pressure so don’t be shy if you want harder or softer pressure, just let us know!
Once your massage is done, take a few moments to yourself while soaking in the aftermath. Don’t jump up and rush out. Just relish the sense of peace and inner calm. When you feel ready, get dressed slowly, and take a deep breath before heading back out into the world. Don’t forget to stop by our receptionist on your way out and set up your next appointment.
