Washington State Massage License: MA 00005242

EDUCATION: Seattle Massage School 1991

SPECIALTIES OR TRAINING: Intra oral massage for jaw pain relief, Trauma Informed Care, Somatic Movement & Touch, Breath work to Aid Myofascial Release

FAVORITE MASSAGE MODALITIES: Trigger Point Techniques, Deep Swedish, Polarity Techniques

PHILOSOPHY ON HEALING: Create a safe space for clients to become and remain present in their bodies for the duration of the session. I use breath work to aid in the release of tension during deep tissue and trigger point techniques; I find clients get deeply refaced and are able to experience a greater degree of tension release.

EXCEPTIONAL RESULTS: The great thing about Elements is that whatever style of massage you are seeking, there will be a therapist on staff who excels at that style. “There’s a lid for every pot,” as my grandma used to say.

I enjoy providing an effective combination of therapeutic and relaxation massage. The clients who return to me, again and again, tend to be people who want to relax and be pampered, yes, but who also likely have some areas of chronic tension or an emerging or longstanding issue they’d like to address. My style attracts folks who want to release old tensions and be more at home in their bodies. I am very lucky to work with individuals who are encountering changes through aging, childbirth, injury or cancer recovery, or who are on a wellness journey and are integrating their mental, emotional and physical forms.

I liken my massage style to that of Yin Yoga, meaning, Long, Slow and Deep. I like to take my time with each client, allowing their mind and body to feel safe in my presence, working with their breath and my breath to flow into deeper pressure so release happens gradually and naturally. My clients don’t often request a full body massage within a 60-minute session; they are more likely to request more involved work on one or two areas of concern. This “deep dive” method is a beautiful way to allow the body to cooperate with the breath to let go of chronic tension at a relaxed and comfortable pace.

The most important thing for me as a massage therapist is creating and holding a space for my clients that is nurturing and safe while encouraging muscles to release old habits and adopt new, more oxygenated ways of moving and being. Recent feedback from my clients includes:

- “I’ve noticed my anxiety has gone down and I’m sleeping better.”
- “Bastet is really helping me with the chronic tension in my shoulders.”
- “Whatever schedule Bastet has; I will make time for her. She’s that good.”

If you are intrigued by what you’ve read here, please, book a session! I’d love to work with you.
