Aromatherapy and Massage
Emily Allison Apr 19, 2016
At Elements Massage Franklin, we have recently started using a variety of essential oils as a part of our new aromatherapy services. How does aromatherapy work? And why did we choose the scents and blends we chose?
Aromatherapy has been around for many years, but it is recently gaining popularity as more people are turning to natural and holistic ways to improve their health. In its simplest explanation, aromatherapy uses a plant's aroma-producing oils to treat the body. The herbs of different plants, flowers, and herbs do different things, and affect certain areas of the body and mind differently than others.
People use essential oils in many different ways. Some inhale them or dispense them into the air; others apply them directly to the skin or to specific areas of the body. Some essential oils are even approved to drink! Elements Massage Franklin has chosen four different essential oils to pair with our services: two blends and two single scents.
Lavender is relaxing and soothing. It improves mood and promotes restful sleep, too.
Eucalyptus is one of the most stimulating scents. It purifies, cools, and clears irritated sinuses to allow for fuller breathing.
- Vitality Blend
Our Vitality Blend is a mix of frankincense, lavender, bergamot, sage, and other warm and inviting scents. It relaxes, calms, relieves stress, and helps to focus the mind.
- Radiance Blend
Our Radiance Blend contains rosewood, lemon, orange, fir needle, and more. It is uplifting, clarifying, and energizing!
Depending on medical conditions, there are certain people who should not use essential oils in massage or otherwise; however, most people can benefit greatly from the application of essential oils! We are offering each of our aromatherapy oils and blends at the cost of $10 to add onto any massage service, so there is no excuse not to try one today!
