Lisa | Licensed Massage Therapist
Lisa received her B.A. in Psychology with a minor in German. She also studied at Blue Ridge School of Herbalism and East West College of Healing Arts. She enjoys helping people resolve work-related stress and tension in the upper body using deep tissue, trigger point, myofascial techniques, acupressure, and relaxation massage. Lisa's philosophy of healing is, "The body has an inherent wisdom that many of us have forgotten how to interpret. By giving less emphasis to abstract thought and tuning in to our sensory awareness we can start to hear what our bodies are trying to tell us. As a bodyworker, I can only hope to facilitate that conversation. As far as my philosophy on massage goes, I believe it to be not only the most natural but most primitive form of medicine. It takes no technology to perform this form of therapy, has little if any negative impact on the earth, and if practiced conscientiously can rarely do harm. It is one of the few things that I know of that is not only beneficial for every system of the body but can be pure bliss to receive."
Lisa has lived in Iowa, Boston, Philly, North Carolina, and Oregon. She has traveled throughout the USA, Mexico, Canada, Germany, and Switzerland. Her dream vacation would be anywhere that is wild and remote with few if any roads where animals and plants outnumber humans.
