"Nicky really listened to me in order to tailor the massage to my needs. She asked good questions to show that she was knowledgeable about my medical condition and she had good suggestions for stretches to help with muscle tightness." - L.W.
"My massage therapist, Nicky, was awesome! Getting a massage is very personal and having a therapist who can totally relax me is very rare." - R.R.
Originally from Naperville, IL. I was drawn to Iowa to attend school at the University of Iowa, where I received a BFA in Dance, minor in Exercise Science, and a 200-hour certification in Hatha Yoga (via the Yoga Connection) in May 2015. After college, I spent the summer in northern Minnesota working as tour guide at the Lutsen Resort on Lake Superior providing kayak, SUP, and hiking tours, teaching yoga, and working the kids camp. Throughout my life I have been a skills oriented person. I decided that even though I was done with college, I still wanted to continue learning new skills. I decided that Massage therapy would fit perfectly into my interests in health and wellness.
I went to East West School of Integrative Healing Arts in Iowa City, IA, where I studied Shiatsu and Swedish massage. Here I learned not only to give a great therapeutic massage, but also how to bring both the client’s health and mind into a better balance. From this training, I enjoyed both the eastern and western perspective of medicine. I feel that in order to understand an entire perspective of a person’s health one must look at both.
After graduation in March, I began my practice in April 2016. I began as an Independent Contractor massage therapist working at Hands in Harmony in Cedar Rapids, IA, and at the University of Iowa Hospital Oasis Chair massage. After a summer of working at a massage therapist and yoga instructor, I decided to leave Iowa City and move to Colorado. I am thankful to have already started an exciting career in the Boulder/ Denver area, and been able to continue on my path of adventure and bliss!
