McKenzie studied at Tennessee School of Therapeutic Massage, as well as at Clark University for philosophy and English. Her favorite massage modalities are classic massage, as it promotes circulation which many people lack due to the type of work they do, and helping those with headaches and TMJ which she especially enjoys as she suffers from both as well. McKenzie’s philosophy on healing is “He who works with his hands is a laborer. He who works with his hands and his head is a craftsman. He who works with his hands and his head and his heart is an artist.” ― Francis of Assisi. “In order for one to be healed, one must allow themselves to be healed. I am only one part of that process.”
Mckenzie has lived in Massachusetts, Tennessee and Portland, OR and has traveled to Fairbanks, AK. Her dream vacation would be a sweet reunion with New England. It holds her roots and will always have her heart. In her other life (before massage) she was stuck behind a desk under fluorescent lights as a welfare eligibility counselor, caught a wild hare, and worked on an organic farm for a bit. It just took a while to figure out the right way for her to help others and now she couldn’t feel more at home.
