Nathan studied massage at East-West College of the Healing Arts, and has an AAS in fitness training from Clark College. His favorite modalities are deep tissue, neuromuscular, structural integration, swedish, trigger point, and myofascial release. Nathan’s philosophy on healing is that more often than not, sore spots are the victim and not the culprit. Finding and treating the source of the pain is key to effective therapy. Through postural assessment we find imbalances and ease them into a more natural position by softening and lengthening taught tissue and strengthening weak musculature.
Nathan grew up in Vancouver, WA and has lived in Portland for a couple of years. He has traveled to California, Idaho, Montana, Boston and Oahu. His dream vacation wouldn’t be anything fancy, just some good buddies, surfing, a little cliff jumping (maybe), and of course some Jiu Jitsu! In his other life (before massage) he was a personal trainer that was into functional movement and corrective exercise with skills that blend nicely into massage therapy.
Nathan’s Massage Modalities: Swedish, Deep Tissue, Trigger Point, Myofascial Release, Injury, Structural Bodywork, NMT, Lymphatic Drainage.
