"I've always wanted to be a healer in my community, and after discovering how effective massage has been in my own path to well-being, I knew I had found my calling. I love the process of co-creating a treatment plan with clients so the people I work with feel empowered to take charge of their health."
- NW Academy of Healing Arts, graduated 2013.
Most Experience Treating:
- ITB contracture
- Low back pain
- Frozen shoulder
"A client came in because she had fallen in a ski accident the week before, and had very restricted range of motion in her neck. She could only turn her head slightly to the left. As mother to a two year old, it was vital for her to be able to move freely. Before the session began, I listened carefully to the details of her accident and I problem-solved what muscles might be the cause of her dysfunction. By focusing on the issue at hand, we were able to bring her neck back to her full range of motion in just one session, and she was a very happy mother!"
What makes your massages unique?
"I believe I've found a balance between treatment massage and relaxation massage. When a client presents with an injury or chronic pain, I use all the techniques available to address the complaint, while at the same time intentionally providing a relaxing, integrative experience for the client."

What do you most appreciate when receiving massage?
"I appreciate an LMP who is grounded, present, and flexible enough to adjust to my needs for each session."
What keeps you passionate about massage therapy?
"There are three keys to staying passionate about massage therapy: One - hearing from clients about the improvements they are experiencing in their sense of well-being. Two - Continually educating myself about new techniques in the health care field. Three - Receiving massage myself as a reminder of how powerful the work is."Sara Powers, LMT, MA60339394
