“My overall goal as a massage therapist is to facilitate positive change in the bodies and lives of my clients by providing a knowledgeable and nurturing touch in a safe space within which they can let themselves take a break from the noise and stresses of their everyday lives.”

Most Experience Treating:
- General Stress
- Muscle Stiffness
- Neck/Shoulder/Upper Back Tension
- Lower Back Pain/Tight Hips
“A client came in looking for a relaxing massage. When I asked about any particular areas of tension, or if there were any regions they especially wanted to include or exclude from the session, they initially responded that they just wanted to relax, and I could do whatever I wanted. With some prompting, they checked in with their body and we came up with a plan. After the massage, they said they felt relaxed and that there were some things I did based on our conversation that they liked and would ask for next time. I think I expanded that client’s view of what massage can be a little bit, and whenever I can give a client back some of the power over the work we do, I count it as a success.”
What makes your massages unique?
“My style has been described as soothing, thorough, and client-centered. In my experience, each individual has a body type all their own and the word “massage” can mean very different things to different people. The best chance for a satisfying experience is to have an honest discussion before the session and then be receptive to ways to improve the established plan as they present themselves. Not only is each client unique, but each day is unique for each client, so I’m interested in adapting each session to the goals the client has for both the long and short terms. I’m always interested in feedback, so I try to check in with clients at various points during session and to maintain an open line of communication.”

What do you most appreciate when receiving massage?
“I appreciate when I feel that the massage therapist is present with me from the greeting to the goodbye. A slower pace, smooth flow, and firm pressure are usually what I’m looking for. I like that getting a massage helps to ground me and increase my body awareness. There are often muscles I didn’t notice were sore until I was asked how I felt or pressure was applied to them, and this information is useful in my attempts to counteract unhealthy habits and postures.”
What keeps you passionate about massage therapy?
“I love to learn, and massage is such a big umbrella that there is always more to learn about it. With every client I meet, article I read, video I watch, class I take, and massage I get, I find something new I want to try or try different next time. Also, given many of the particulars of the world we live in, I feel good about doing something where I try to create a safe, accepting, supportive, relaxing environment. A place where my clients can set aside their stresses, turn off their technological devices, disconnect from social media, let down their guard, and be themselves.”
