We are pleased to feature Lissanne Lake for the Montclair Art Walk this Friday evening from 6-9 pm. Lissane has been a full time freelance illustrator for over twenty years. She earned her bachelor of arts in illustration at Jersey City State College in 1978, and then went to work in advertising in New York for a number of years before turning to illustration and fine arts.
Since then, she has done art for over a hundred book covers, including covers for best-selling authors such as Terry Pratchett, Thomas Disch, Raymond Buckland & Scott Cunningham. In addition, Lissanne has created numerous paintings for magazines and other products and publications.
She has had her works displayed in various gallery shows across the nation, including the Olympia & York juried show on 5th avenue in New York, and has won numerous awards & best-of-shows, including from the prestigious Worldcon.
Recently, Lissanne has had solo shows of the Green World series at the Intermezzo Gallery in participates in group shows in the NY & NJ area. She moderates a weekly group painting portraits from live models in Wallington, and frequently does demonstrations in acrylic technique and portraits. In January and February of 2012 and May through September of 2013, her work is being displayed in a solo show at the gallery of the library at Park Ridge and she has an ongoing exhibit in UMDNJ Upstairs Gallery, a dozen paintings which are changed yearly.
