Where did you study? Lindsay Hopkins, Miami, FL
When did you graduate? 1977
What do you like most about massage? I am grateful for the opportunity to create a soothing, calm space where my clients can leave the stresses and challenges of life behind and receive healing touch, I love the fact that the massage work I do allows people to feel noticeably more relaxed, restored and/or with a diminished pain level, almost immediately!
What are your favorite modalities / specialties? Although Deep Tissue has been my specialty through most of my career, I also love working gently to help clients move back into balance.
Techniques such as Cranio-Sacral and light touch massage can also create extremely beneficial effects.
Most often I use a combination of Swedish, Shiatsu, Deep Tissue (unless your preference is for gentler work), Foot Reflexology, Cranio-Sacral and Tui-Na. When we discuss your treatment before we begin, you are welcome to choose any or all of the modalities listed.
Why do you feel those modalities / specialties are effective? My task as a practitioner is to create a safe space and a rapport for non-verbal conversation with your muscles and your body. When that environment is in place, enhanced energy flow and feeling of well-being are the result. Having used most of these modalities for many years, the well-established rapport I have with them creates an open transmission of the information and energy needed for an excellent massage experience.
Anything special you'd like to share about yourself? I am very happily married with four amazing adult children and two fantastic grandkids. I love playing guitar, singing and writing songs. And my life is blessed with many great friends! I have so much to be grateful for!
