Massage Franchise Employees Help Raise More Than $1600 in the Anthem Fight for Air Climb

HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. – March 2, 2010 – Employees of the Elements Therapeutic Massage Franchise Support Center in Highlands Ranch, Colo., recently participated in the largest fundraising event for the American Lung Association in Colorado's history -- the 2010 Anthem Fight for Air Climb on Feb. 28. In total the event raised $337,474.99 with 10 employees from Elements raising more than $1600.

The fundraiser took place at the Republic Plaza in downtown Denver, the tallest building in the Rocky Mountain West. With an average time of 12 minutes and 28 seconds, the Elements team climbed the stairwell from the basement of the building to the top floor – a total of 56 stories and 1,098 steps.

The team from Elements Therapeutic Massage included: Sue Beranek, Chris Eley, Stacy Eley, Kristine Fisher, Kyle Gjersee, Eric Goetsch, Sandy Keese, Michele Merhib, Stacy Nordby, Katie Shanahan and Todd Webster.

In addition to raising money for the cause, Elements massage therapists were on hand to give massages to the participants. Between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. more than 190 free massages were performed on the climbers.

“This event was a great opportunity to help raise money for an important organization, increase awareness for lung disease and help promote health and wellness, our core goals as we grow our therapeutic massage franchise across the country,” said Kyle Gjersee, senior vice president and chief operating officer of Elements Therapeutic Massage. “The Fight for Air climb was a great success and we had fun participating in such a wonderful event that helps so many people.”
