Fitness Together Holdings Executive Team Places 6th in Boulder Marathon Relay

HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. – Sept. 24, 2009 – “Fitness Together” is more than the Colorado-based wellness company’s name, it’s a lifestyle championed by the corporation. Four executives from Fitness Together Holdings, Inc., parent company of Fitness Together Franchise Corporation and elements therapeutic massage, inc., completed the Boulder Marathon Relay on Sept. 20 and ranked 6th among the 44 relay teams competing. elements therapeutic massage was a sponsor of the event, giving more than 200 free, 15-minute massages to runners.

Jeff Jervik, president and CEO of Fitness Together Holdings, Bob Haimes, executive vice president and chief growth officer of Fitness Together Holdings, Kevin Betts, chief operating officer and senior vice president of Fitness Together Franchise Corp., and Kyle Gjersee, senior vice president of operations and chief operating officer for elements therapeutic massage, formed a relay team and completed the 26.2 miles beginning and ending at the Boulder Reservoir. Jervik continued past his 7.3-mile leg and completed another 6.3-mile segment for a total of 13.9 miles, the equivalent of a half marathon.

“Running in the Boulder Marathon Relay was a great way for us as the executive team of an international wellness company to show we truly practice what we preach,” said Jervik. “In addition, seeing elements massage therapists help hundreds of fellow runners after the race was a perfect example of how our two combined brands support overall wellness.”

elements therapeutic massage was selected as the exclusive massage therapy sponsor for the race. All 13 Colorado elements studios were represented, with 16 massage therapists providing much-needed massage therapy to runners. The sponsorship was organized by Kate and Mark Mills, owners of elements therapeutic massage of Boulder.

Mark Mills is a full-time injury massage therapist at his elements location as well as an avid runner, who at 55 has completed 10 100-mile ultramarathons and 106 marathons. “Running and massage therapy are both a huge part of my life and as an elements owner, I am proud to support my community and hope to share the healing power of massage therapy with other runners.” Mills was on-site providing massages to runners.
