Massage Franchise Names Amy Powers Executive VP and General Counsel

HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. – July 20, 2009 – Fitness Together Holdings, Inc., has named Amy Powers as executive vice president and general counsel, overseeing legal duties for the parent company and its relationship with a growing franchise network of studios operating under the Fitness Together and elements therapeutic massage brands.

“Amy brings a wealth of knowledge to our team, coming from a strong franchising background and understanding the compliance it takes to build and protect brand leaders across the country and around the world,” said Jeff Jervik, president, CEO and chief operating officer of Fitness Together Holdings.

In her new role, Powers will report to Jervik where her responsibilities will include litigation, regulatory compliance (including franchise disclosure compliance), contract review and negotiation, and compliance with studio and master agreements for Fitness Together and elements therapeutic massage. She will oversee the parent company’s relationships with area directors and franchisees and will play a key role in the development of the growing organization.

Powers previously served as senior vice president and assistant general counsel for the Quiznos restaurant franchise system. Prior to that, she was of counsel at the law firm of Holland & Hart, LLP in Denver. She previously served as general counsel for Boston Market and associate general counsel for Einstein/Noah Bagel Corp. Prior to joining Einstein/Noah Bagel Corp., she was a partner at the law firm of Bell, Boyd & Lloyd in Chicago (which recently merged with K&L Gates, LLP).

Powers holds a bachelor’s degree from Bowling Green State University and a law degree from DePaul University.
