Elements Therapeutic Massage Names Karleen Hawkinson as Director of Franchise Development

Jun 24, 2013

HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. -- Elements Therapeutic Massage, a thriving massage franchise with more than 135 studios open across the country, announced the appointment of seasoned franchise builder Karleen Hawkinson as the company’s new Director of Franchise Development.

Hawkinson has spent the last 14 years in franchise sales and marketing, including leading franchise development efforts for The Alternative Board, and business to business coaching franchise. She has also representing the Supercuts franchise with the Regis Corporation, a network of salon franchises, as well as BrightStar Care, a home healthcare franchise. At Elements, Karleen will work closely with the company’s Executive Vice President of Development, Scott Wendrych, who serves as the chief sales officer for Elements Therapeutic Massage, as well as Kris Nieb, Vice President of Franchise Development.

“I’m impressed with the controlled growth that Elements has exercised, the systems that have been put into place, and the franchisee key metrics which are monitored monthly,” said Hawkinson. “Many franchisors will experience tremendous growth in the early years but do not invest in the proper infrastructure to support the growth. Elements has assembled an amazingly knowledgeable senior leadership team that is 100 percent dedicated to growing the right way and I am truly proud to introduce franchise candidates to the culture here.”

Elements has generated strong growth across the country even in a down economy, with a cumulative annual growth rate in system-wide revenues of 27.8 percent over the last three years. For potential franchisees, Elements boasts a lower investment and cost structure with a smaller footprint, less build-out and lower rent than competitors in the massage retail space, making the franchise more operationally efficient. The monthly recurring revenue model and potential for multi-unit ownership makes it possible for new franchisees to keep their full-time careers while hiring full-time managers to run the day-to-day operations of their studios.
